May might be my favorite month for outdoor work. It’s the perfect mix of the rain of spring where everything has usually burst out to peak green. The temperatures are warm, but not the muggy, oppressive heat that comes by July. Not that you don’t get the occasional cool snap or unexpected storm, but overall I think May comes the closest to being perfect for outdoor work.
These images with Keira Grant come from some outdoor work we did Memorial Day weekend in a very isolated spot in North Carolina. Shooting at a new location without scouting can be a risk, but in this case it paid off with some wonderful images of Keira on the rocks and in the stream.
